GIFTS FOR JESUS

Gifts For Jesus

St. Matthew 2:1,10-11 "Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,..

When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.

And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh."

What is a gift? A gift is something that is given to someone without the expectation of receiving anything in return.

Gifts can be a wonderful way to show someone that you care about them and appreciate them. There are many different types of gifts that you can give, and the best gift will depend on the recipient's interests and preferences. In general, gifts can be a meaningful and enjoyable way to express one's feelings and strengthen relationships with others. They can bring joy and happiness to both the person giving the gift and the person receiving it.

The wise men from East brought gifts of gold, and frankincense, and myrrh to Jesus. These men understood the significance of the things they were doing. First, they were led by the star. For them to be led by a star, they must have been learned in astrology (or any other similar study) to have known direction by the star. Secondly, they took along gifts that must have had deeper significance than what ordinarily would be understood. When the star brought them to the place, they fell down and worshipped Jesus. These men knew exactly what they were doing. All they did, they did so before Jesus became anything important in the eyes of men. They saw ahead of time. In our day and time, after having all the knowledge about Jesus, the miracles he performed, his suffering, death and resurrection and then ascention to heaven, what do we have to offer him?

# Thanksgiving:

1 Thessalonians 5:18 "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."

Give God thanks for Jesus. God's arrangement to bring Christ down to sinful man deserve the thanksgiving of us all. What other best way to celebrate than to thank God. We know what had happened and what we are enjoying because of Jesus. The wise men played their part, it is left for us to play ours.

#Present Your Body:

Romans 12:1 "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service."

Present to God the gift of your body. The Holy Spirit of God needs our bodies to achieve God's purpose. My body and yours is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Give it to God and away from sin.

# Present Your Soul:

St. Matthew 16:26 "For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?"

Give God the gift of your soul. Whoever has the soul, has control of the life. If satan is in control of the soul, he will wreck havock and cause damage. If God is in control of the soul, good things will come out of it. For out of the soul proceeds either good or evil depending on who is in control. Good will come out if God is in control.

While gifts are shared to one another during Christmas, do not forget to give God thanks, present your body and make sure He is in control of your soul.

Pray:

Father, I have a gift for You. I give You thanks, knowing that nothing is impossible with. I present my body, knowing that You keep it Holy as the temple of the Holy Spirit. I surrender to You my soul so that by it, good will come out of my life.

Thank You for receiving my gift in Jesus name. Amen!
