Ministry To The Sinner

 Ministry To The Sinner

Psalms 25:8 "Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way."

The sinner is one who breaks the law(s) of God simply because of disobedience or lack of knowledge of the liberating power of God and the finished work of Christ Jesus on the cross. A sinner is powerless to set himself or herself free from the power and clutches of sin thus the need of a mediator to reconcile the sinner back to God. This ministry of reconciliation to God was made possible by Christ on the cross of Calvary. We are brought into this ministry when we accept Jesus to be Lord of our lives. The sinner's chances of becoming a saint is enhanced when we accept to partner with God through Christ to reach out to the sinner.

"...therefore will he teach sinners in the way."

The sinner needed to be brought into the kingdom of God by an insider in the faith or by hearing the word of God. Faith for salvation from sin to Christ is activated by the word of salvation which stirs the heart to enter into 'Life'. Teaching of the word of God instructs a sinner to walk into sainthood. Continuous hearing of the word of God through teaching builds the sinner and is metamorphous as the Holy Spirit works in the heart bringing about a changed life.

Psalms 51:12-13 "Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee."

The insider to the kingdom of God must not be a backslider so as to be effectively used to bring the outsider i.e. sinner into the fold. The complete ministry to the sinner must not be one sided unbalanced ministry. The sinner will learn in word and deed from the saint.

"Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee."

The saint must be restored to God and have the evidence of a transformed life. This will enable the sinner to have a complete understand of the message both in word and deed. When the sinner sees a complete package, the transformation to sainthood will be relatively faster and sure.

There is the tendency for the saint to enjoy the preveldges available in God's kingdom and forget that the sinner needs to be ministered to. That was the case during the days of Jesus. They saw Jesus with the sinners and wondered why. Jesus replied those who felt they were saints correctly (it is clear that they who raised the accussation were not worthy to be classified as one of his own).

St. Matthew 9:13 "But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."

There are parables of Jesus that suggests that God has high priority in bringing the sinner into His fold. The righteous are already righteous they do not need to be called again. All they needed is to move up to a higher calling to partner with God to bring in the sinner. If this is not clear, the grace of God will be wasted. Before the saint was called, sin was a way of life. While the saint was a sinner, Christ loved the sinner but hates the sin. It was love that brought the sinner in and transformed to a saint. Now, it is time for the former sinner and now a saint to move higher and answer the call to be a blessing beneficial to the sinner.

Romans 5:8 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

If you are a sinner, today, make a decision for Jesus and become a citizen of the kingdom of God. If you are a saint, it is time to partner with God to bring in the sinner. You do well to respond on the affirmation.

1 Timothy 1:15 "This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief."

Apostle Paul clearly told us that he was a chief sinner but was transformed to a saint. Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit changed Paul's life. He (Paul) was relavant to God and was effective at changing lives. It is your turn to move straight and not move away from the path and the hit the mark. Start today. Do not stay aloft. Take the first step and gradually, a step at a time, you will make tremendous progress and achieve success.

James 4:8 "Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded."

To convert a sinner is considered great in the eyes of God.

James 5:20 "Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins."

While the sinner's sin is forgiven, the saint is rewarded by God and the host of heaven rejoices. The part you may play may be little in your eyes but God will reward you richly.

Pray:

Father, the ministry to the sinner will not fail in my hand. Show me what to. I repent of my sins, forgive me, teach me Your ways so that I may live right and be a model of success in order for sinners will see how You transform a sinner to saint. Do it for me and do it for them until we all become faithful saints. This I pray in Jesus name. Amen!
