Success For The Saint

 Success For The Saint

Psalms 118:24-25 "The LORD has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad.

LORD, save us! LORD, grant us success!'

The above prayer is typical of the average saint: "LORD, save us! LORD, grant us success!'

The saint of God is conscious of his or moves to be approved by heaven. Success to the saint of God is part of the whole package to fulfill God's purpose and will. Infact, the will of God is the target for success. Since success is preconceived, the saint of God is said to be successful if the will of God is known before hand and when it is fully achieved, the saint is said to be successful.

One of the predetermined will of God is for the saint to be like Jesus. This is success!

1 John 4:17 "Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world."

Once we become like Jesus in life and walk with God, we are successful. The saint may get all the riches of the world but without becoming like Jesus, it cannot be equated with success. Who is Jesus? To know the life of Jesus so that we become like him, we need to have the same spirit he had. He was led to do the things he did by the Holy Spirit. We need to have the same Spirit working in us

St. Matthew 11:27 "All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him."

We learn about Jesus from his claims about himself. He made several claims about himself. He said that he is the way, the truth and life. He said that he was meek and that we should learn from him

St. Matthew 11:29 'Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls."

Learning from a meek person is much better and faster. Jesus is that man based on the claims about himself:

"...learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls."

It is success to be like Jesus. This is the goal of the saint. While the sinner is in pursuit of success by self effort to gratify the desire of the flesh, the saint starts from God and ends with Him. He prays to God for success, he knows and seeks the will of God and at the end of the day, he becomes like Jesus.

The saint may become rich financially, may have numerous achievements and becomes famous but that never deters the saint from becoming like Jesus. He seeks God and the things that please Him.

St. Matthew 6:33 "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

God first and the rest follows. Good health follows, riches may follow, all that men pursue will follow. When God is placed first, sorrow and pain is reduced.

Proverbs 10:22 "The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it."

God will guide the saint into true happiness and success. The sinner does not have time for God to be guided. God is with the saint since he has God in first place.

1 Samuel 18:14 "In everything he did he had great success, because the LORD was with him."

It is possible for the saint not to have the riches most pursue in life but he will have sufficient to meet his daily needs. He has enough for the day. If riches and material success is entrusted in his hands, he will use it in such a way to please God.

One thing that is characteristic of the saint is that he prays about issues to God at every turn. He is set to hear God's voice and obey divine instruction.

2 Chronicles 26:5 "He sought God during the days of Zechariah, who instructed him in the fear of God. As long as he sought the LORD, God gave him success."

As long as he seek God, the saint prospers. He succeeds according to the will of God. Inventions, discoveries, successful innovations and breakthroughs in life are possible by the help of God.

2 Kings 20:20 "As for the other events of Hezekiah’s reign, all his achievements and how he made the pool and the tunnel by which he brought water into the city, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Judah?"

The Bible is a catalog of men and women who succeeded by the help of God. Abraham, Noah, David, Solomon, Hezekiah, Esther, Deborah and a host of others succeeded because God helped them. In fact, the Bible is the book of success.

1 Kings 10:4-7 "When the queen of Sheba saw all the wisdom of Solomon and the palace he had built, the food on his table, the seating of his officials, the attending servants in their robes, his cupbearers, and the burnt offerings he made at the temple of the LORD, she was overwhelmed.

She said to the king, "The report I heard in my own country about your achievements and your wisdom is true.

But I did not believe these things until I came and saw with my own eyes. Indeed, not even half was told me; in wisdom and wealth you have far exceeded the report I heard"."

King Solomon was made wealthy by the help of God. He was so wealthy that no one could properly quantify his wealth. Queen Sheba heard about him but when she met him, she saw what was more than she heard. The setting in his palace and how things were run showed that he had enormous wealth. God gave all to him. It started in prayer and God saw to it that Solomon was very wealthy.

To be a saint is not to live beggarly. God blesses the saint with what is necessary to achieve success in life. Will God bless you? Yes He will if you will obey Him. If you are going through challenges in life and it appears like nothing is working, turn to God in prayer. Let your desire be made known to him.

Pray:

My Father and my God, I come to You in prayer and I ask that You change my life. I repent of my sins and I ask for forgiveness. Turn me from a sinner to a saint who is willing to obey divine instructions.

I receive success from You as from today henceforth. This I pray in Jesus' name. Amen!
