What God Has Done For Us

What God Has Done For Us

Psalms 126:1-3 "When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.

Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.

The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad."

God can do great things for an individual as well as for a group of people. An individual can be in a group of people and enjoy the many things that comes to the group just by being a member of the group and having things in common. It is even possible for an individual to be in a group of people and never enjoy the many things that the group enjoys because of one reasons or the other. We can even see the situation where an individual enjoys the blessings of God while the group he or she belongs to is not enjoying the same blessing. The individual is meeting up with the terms of the blessing  while the group cares nothing about the terms.

For an individual and the group to enjoy the same blessing, they all must be under the same cloud cover of the blessing. They must be in one accord.

The Acts 2:1-2 "And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting."

One accord simply means they were together with one mind in full agreement. When a people is in one mind in full agreement, God blesses them. This is possible because they please the Lord.

"...suddenly there came ..."

There will come a blessing to a people if they learn to be in one accord. The suddeness of the blessing will be in proportion to the 'One Accord' of the people.

"... it filled all the house where they were sitting."

The blessing will fill everyone present who was in agreement. Timing was also very important when it comes to the blessing of the people.

"...when the day of Pentecost was fully come,..."

The blessing was brought closer because they were in one accord. What would have happened had they not been together? They would have missed the blessing or they would have delayed the blessing. What they enjoyed thereafter included changed lives and miracles of all kinds. God had done this amazing things to a people and will continue to do the same if the right atmosphere is created.

Acts 5:18-19

"And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison.

But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth,..."

It was like a dream when the Lord brought them out of prison by the hands of angels. It was not Peter alone that was imprisoned, it was the apostles together. They were imprisoned because of the work they were doing for God. By Angels they were supernatural delivered. This kind of deliverance can only be possible because the apostles were in one accord doing the work of God.

"When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream..."

Zion (a people) will enjoy collective blessing of God if provision is made by the people for divine intervention. God heard their prayer (in one accord) and delivered them. It was amazing and a wonder. To them, it was like a dream. This will be the situation for a family, an organization (or institution), a nation or an association of people.

"Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them."

Who would not like to see his or her family or nation filled with laughter and singing? We all want to see the groups we belong to happy. If you love your people, you will pray for the common blessing. This is the kind of blessing that will make the heathen (foreigners to the group) see and marvel at the kindness of God.

"... then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them."

This kind cannot be hidden. It is noticeable by all insiders and outsiders alike.

In Exodus chapters 3 to 15, we see this kind of deliverance by God for the people. God delivered Israel by His mighty power through Moses. By chapter 15, Moses sang a song of deliverance and appreciation to God for His mighty power to deliver. The joy that came as a result of the deliverance made Moses to sing a song that was never sang. We see similar acts of God in the books of Esther, Acts of the apostles and many other places in the Bible. Today it is your turn to see God bless you and your family, nation and group. Will you be in one accord? Will you invite Him to take control? What He will do for you and your group will bring laugher and produce a song.

Pray:

My God, You are our God. The God of my family, nation and every group I belong to. Do Your wonders and do a great work in our group. Show us how to be in one accord in obedience to Your will. Forgive us where we failed You in the past and take the lead. We shall be filled with joy and we shall sing new songs of joy and thanksgiving to the glory of your name. This I pray in Jesus name. Amen!
